Hi!  I'm Kay Axtell

I  have a Master's degree in education.  I am also certified by the Institute for the Advancement of ADHD Coaching as a Senior Certified ADHD Coach.  In addition to coaching ADD, I am  trained as a Cogmed Coach assisting  adults and children identified with significant working memory issues.

I  have over twenty years experience working as a Special Education teacher for students with special needs  in both public schools and state agencies. As a coach,
I develop organizational strategies and educational support and planning for children, teens, college students and adults with ADD, Learning Disabilities, and other conditions or life transitions.  I'm willing to attend IEP or 504 meetings at school locations and work individually with students to develop personal success strategies for school.

I coach  adults and couples who want to manage their time, space, money, and relationships in a manner that allows them a more successful, stress-free life.

In addition to coaching services, I have conducted workshops and presentations for: the Community College of Denver Nursing Program,  University of Colorado at Denver Disabilities  Resource Center, Child First Pediatrics, Complete Spectrum Financial Services and the Colorado Counsel for Learning Disabilities Conference.  Presentations have included topics on:  Time Management, Relationships, Parenting the ADHD Child, Managing Adult ADHD and Behavior Management in the Classroom.  I've also co-authored an article for UCD students transitioning to college from high school.

I have  conducted groups for teens, women and couples dealing with specific aspects of ADHD.

I am  passionate about working with students with different learning styles and  about educating our youth so that all might have the opportunity to succeed at their highest level of potential.
